We put in extra effort to ensure that only our customers can access the exclusive premium benefits that come with a purchase of Slider Revolution. This includes downloading our latest templates, addons, and high-quality assets. We verify the access to provide you with the best experience.
We apologize that this sometimes takes extra time; we hope you enjoy the quality. This process helps us deliver exclusively to our customers, and we thank you for your patience.
All About License Keys
Now let’s closely examine precisely what a license key is, why it’s needed, how it can end up locked, and how you can manage your keys.
What is a License Key, and Why Do I Need One?
A license key for Slider Revolution acts as a pass you can use to connect to our servers and access exclusive premium content.
This premium content includes 200+ ready-to-use templates [?]
A "Template" is a premade module. It has pre-configured layers already in place.
It is designed to be ready for use, either as is or after being modified in the module editor.
Slider Revolution comes with several templates you can use, or alternatively you can create your own templates, thereby allowing you to easily reuse modules you have produced., high quality objects [?]
Objects are images or videos that come bundled with Slider Revolution. They can be found in the image and video object libraries.
Both images and videos from the object library have been formatted and optimized in advance to make them suitable for use in modules. such as photographs and videos, 25+ addons [?]
Addons extend the functionality of Slider Revolution, adding new controls to the module editor and allowing you to do extra things with your design.
For example, using the particle addon you can create effects such as falling snow, and using the distortion addon you can create shimmering effects such as simulating being underwater.
There are dozens of addons available, all included with the full version of Slider Revolution. that extend the functionality of Slider Revolution, one-click updates, and direct 1-on-1 support.
Note: To access premium content, you’ll need a stand-alone license key for Slider Revolution. If you have a copy of Slider Revolution that came bundled with your theme but haven’t purchased a premium license yet, you can get yours here.
What Can Cause a License Key to Be Locked?
Each license key for Slider Revolution is intended to be used on a single domain at a time. This is still the case if you have a bundle of licenses, as a bundle is a way to purchase multiple license keys at a discount, each meant for use on a single site.
Using a license key on multiple domains simultaneously can lock your license key.
You can do that if you decide to stop using a license key on one domain and use it on another. We’ll step through how to do so in just a moment.
However, a single license key on more than three domains within a week can lock your license key.
So if you need to move your license between domains more often than that, you’ll probably be better off using multiple permits instead.
Benefits of Purchasing Multiple License Bundles
With a bundle of licenses, you can register multiple sites for full access to premium content simultaneously.
This means that on top of having full access to templates and the object library during content creation, you can also have as many addons activated on your sites as you like.
Not only this, but you can use one-click instant updates on all of your websites, ensuring you always have the latest additions to Slider Revolution.
These additions include immediate access to the newest templates and features and can also include bug fixes and conflict resolutions that help keep your sites running smoothly.
Reuse Your License Key on a Staging / Localhost Site
Using a staging platform or local host to work on your site, you don’t need an extra license key to set up such a development environment.
This is because, for each license key you register on a domain, you can reuse that same key on a corresponding local host or staging site.
Learn more about our Licensing Information for Staging Sites and Localhost guide. The article includes a complete list of the domains we allow for development and local-host sites.
Deregister a License Key Before Moving to Another Domain
You can move a license key from one domain to another as many times as you like, as long as you don’t do so more than three times in one week.
To ensure proper usage, it’s crucial to deregister a license key from its current domain before registering it in a new environment.
There are two ways to deregister a plugin:
- Through your site’s Slider Revolution dashboard
- Though your account portal
Let’s learn how to use each of these methods.
Deregistering a License Key Through Your Site
To deregister a license key through your site, go to the dashboard of the Slider Revolution plugin:
Scroll down to the Registered License Key section:
Click the Deregister this License Key button:
After deregistering the license key, this is how the Register License Key area should look:
Resetting a Key Through Your Account Portal
Alternatively, to deregister a key through your site’s Slider Revolution dashboard, you can reset a license key through your account portal instead.
This option is beneficial if you deleted a website before deregistering the license key you were using on it.
Go to your account portal on sliderrevolution.com:
Click on the RESET KEY button to the right of the license key you want to deregister:
Once you deregister a license key through your Slider Revolution dashboard or account portal, you can freely register that license key on any other domain.
Wrapping
Let’s have a quick recap of everything we’ve covered:
- If your license key is not working, contact our support team so we can unlock it for you.
- You can move a license key from one domain to another, but you should first deregister it from its current domain.
- You can deregister license keys through your site’s Slider Revolution dashboard or your account portal. If you need to set up a development environment for a site, there’s no need for an extra license key because you can reuse each key on the corresponding staging/local host environment.
- Suppose you’d like to access premium content and instant updates on multiple websites without inadvertently locking a license key. In that case, one of our multiple-site bundle options might be an excellent fit for you.

Hi,
Thank you for purchasing one of our plugins. You can download the plugin, add license keys, and view/change which license is associated with which domain by accessing the member dashboard at https://account.sliderrevolution.com.
Your login information is the email address and password you set when you purchased your first license of Slider Revolution or Essential Grid. If you need to reset your password, you can do so with the “Account / Change Password” menu item while logged in or by using the link below the login form.
If you have any more questions, feel free to let us know at: https://support.sliderrevolution.com

hi will i lose my projects when replacing the plugin on a different site? or my projects will be saved?
Hi, the modules you build are stored in the database. So updating or registering the plugin or license won’t hurt them.
On the other hand, de-registering will turn off all premium features like addOns or premium templates for example.
Hope this helps, let me know if not.
Best regards, Dirk @ Slider Revolution
Locking people’s keys instead of just saying something like ‘You have this key registered on another site or even better, the key you used is registered on {www.example.com].’ would be even better. As many of us forget to deregister from the development URL after a build. Locking and then making us wait for you to unlock wastes valuable time. I expected better support and practices.
Hi Ted,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand the inconvenience that may arise when transitioning from a development to a live environment, especially if a key is inadvertently left registered on the development server.
Our locking mechanism is primarily in place to prevent misuse or unauthorized distribution of keys. To clarify, a license only gets locked after it’s been used multiple times on different domains, as an extra precaution against potential misuse. However, we do acknowledge that genuine situations, like the one you described, can occur. That’s why we have provisions for development servers. As you mentioned, we have a solution where you can use a single key for both the live and development environments.
More details can be found in our Licensing Information for Staging Sites and Localhost: https://stage.rvsldr.com/faq/licensing-information-for-staging-sites-and-localhost/
Nevertheless, we are continuously working to enhance our user experience, and feedback like yours is invaluable in guiding these improvements. We’ll certainly consider more transparent notification mechanisms in the future.
Thank you for choosing Slider Revolution. We truly value your business and aim to provide the best support possible.
Warm regards,
Dirk @ Slider Revolution
