Why was my Slider Revolution license deactivated?

Did you get a message in your Slider Revolution admin, saying that your license has been deactivated? No worries! This article will guide you through what is going on and how to resolve it.

Table of Contents

What happens if my Slider Revolution license is deactivated?

You will no longer have access to Slider Revolution Premium features on the website where this license key was registered.

Premium features include:
Template library, object library, add-ons, ticket support, and updates.

Your installed Premium templates and addons will also stop working and will no longer display on your website.

What are the reasons for a license to be deactivated?

1. You manually deregistered your license key

It’s possible to do so in the Slider Revolution WordPress admin area or your license management dashboard.
This will cause the license to be deactivated on the corresponding website.

2. You deregistered/registered your license key too many times in a short time

This can cause your license key to get locked. Learn how to unlock it here.
Each license key can be used to unlock all Premium features on ONE domain plus staging sites and localhost environments.

3. You manually canceled your subscription

This can be done in the license management dashboard.
If the remaining subscription time ran out without the subscription being manually renewed, it will be paused (and the license deactivated).

4. For subscriptions: Your payment method failed

We will inform you about your automatic license renewal 7 days and 2 days before it takes place, to give you time to update your payment method or cancel your subscription.

If the saved payment method fails after 3 retries (3, 5, and 7 days after your license renewal date), this subscription will be paused (and the license deactivated).

5. Domain/migration reasons

Your Slider Revolution license can also be deactivated automatically when doing the following:

  • You copied your database from one server to another
  • There are multiple domains that refer to the same WordPress installation
  • You switched the domain of your WordPress installation

The above problems can be remedied by simply deactivating the domain in your member dashboard and then re-activating the Slider Revolution license on your website’s new domain.
6. Multiple Domains pointing to one WordPress installation (Multilanguage Websites)

Please contact our support team to look into your special case and we will find the fitting solution.

  1. I purchased Slider Revolution but never used it. I was trying to use it today on my website so I tried to activate it and was told it has already been used for a website. I only manage one website. I don’t know how to get it back again. I downloaded it and when I tried to install it, I was told that I am missing a slider text file. I can give you my purchase code if you need it.

  2. We purchased Slider Revolution outright (no subscription) but for some reason, the license key will sometimes disappear in the plugins backend (where it should show your registered key number) and all of the sliders we created on our site will then disappear from our website.

This has happened twice with nothing initiated on our end to prompt the key to disappear. Any thoughts on how to prevent this from happening? We know how to fix it now, but preventing it from happening in the first place is the main concern so that our website’s visibility isn’t compromised until we’re aware of the issue.

    1. Hi,

we would need to take a look into your installation to see what might cause this. In the past, a handful of themes caused some strange issues because theme authors sometimes try to make it look like they bundle the premium version of our plugin. Please raise a ticket over at https://support.sliderrevolution.com and our team will have a look!

      Cheers, Dirk @ Slider Revolution

  3. every 3 -4 days my license disappears and my site goes blank. I have to login to my slider revolution account and reset and add once again. This i snot stop now for 3 months, clients telling me the site is black and immediately i know i have to reset the key and add it again. This is getting old and im beginning to regret ever using slider revolution

      1. Hi! Your plugin constantly fails to maintain the activated license code applied to a single domain. We see other customers reporting the same issue, identified above in this post. Please fix this licensing issue. We’ve experienced this issue for longer than one year. In our case, to resolve the issue, we must revisit your website and RESET the license key, then reapply it on the SAME WordPress instance. This has unfortunately become a routine maintenance event.

        1. Hi Travis Price,

Thanks for your reply. Do you have a ticket opened in our support center? We would like to investigate this further for you. If not, you can email me directly at kc@stage.rvsldr.com and I’ll escalate this for you.

Best regards, KC @ Slider Revolution

          1. KC,
This happens to me too. It is hard to request a ticket if support has expired. When one acquires the software these one should not have to pay extra for support because we don’t expect these types of issues.

          2. Hi Demian,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand the frustration that can come when experiencing issues, especially outside of the initial support period.

When purchasing software, it often comes with an initial period of support to assist users in setting up and addressing any immediate issues. After that, there might be a fee for continued support. This is a common practice in the industry, as it helps sustain ongoing development, updates, and dedicated customer support.

In your case though, please reach out to our support manager directly at kc@stage.rvsldr.com, and we’ll do our best to guide you or offer a solution, even if your support period has lapsed. We genuinely care about our users and the experience they have with our products.

We’re always working on improving our products and the support we provide. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us achieve that.

            Best regards,

            Dirk @ Slider Revolution

    1. Hi,

thanks for your comment. I am happy to clear things up for you since there probably was a misunderstanding when purchasing the theme.

The premium version of Slider Revolution is NEVER included in any theme though theme authors like to make it look like this sometimes for marketing reasons.
Only the free version is bundled. We do not have a commission-based or similar contract with any theme author.

We will send this particular author a message to check their theme marketing to prevent this misunderstanding from happening again. We ourselves win nothing from this but get angry messages from customers who think we are responsible for this.

      Cheers, Dirk @ Slider Revolution

  4. The issue with the license keys is infuriating and has been going on an on for months. We are using the license on ONE website and one staging environment, per the regulations, but Slider Revolution consistently treats them like separate domains. I’m over it. We’re looking into an alternative plugin that doesn’t require constant babysitting.

    1. I genuinely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced with our licensing system. It’s crucial to us that our users have a seamless experience with Slider Revolution.

To address your specific issue: while the software is designed to recognize a main site and its corresponding staging environment, occasional hiccups can occur. We’re committed to resolving such issues promptly.

I’d like to provide a direct solution to your problem. Please get in touch with our support manager at kc@stage.rvsldr.com. Mention this interaction, and we’ll prioritize offering you a tailored solution. We possess the expertise to ensure you don’t encounter this issue in the future.

Before making a switch, please allow us an opportunity to make things right. We appreciate your patience and feedback as it helps us improve.

      Warm regards,
      Dirk @ Slider Revolution
