Action Mode Tour

Action Mode Tour

In Action Mode you can add interactive triggers to your modules. In this tour, let’s see the kinds of actions that are possible.

Action Mode Categories

Action Mode can be activated by clicking the action mode icon 1 in the Right Sidebar ->.

Once active, Action Mode will display an item for each action 1 that has already been added to the currently selected slide 2, and a button to add new actions 3.

Clicking an action item opens its settings panel to the left 1, where it can be configured.

Action items are grouped by category.

There are eight categories of action type you can add and configure:

Use the Menu Link & Scroll action for internal links, such as links from menus, that can also smoothly scroll to a specified in-page anchor.

Add a Simple Link action to open a specified URL.

Use the Call Back Function action to call a JavaScript function when triggered.

Use the iOS Gyroscopic Permission action if you need to request permission to access gyroscopes on iOS devices.

Slide Actions

The Go To Slide action lets you skip to a specified slide in the module.

The Pause Slide Playback action prevents the module from automatically progressing to the next slide.

The Resume Slide Playback action only applies if a module’s playback is paused, and will “un-pause” it so it can progress to the next slide.

The Toggle Playback action plays a paused module or pauses a playing module.

Scene Actions

The Play Scene action plays a target scene from a specified slide.

The Toggle Scene action switches between playing one of two specified scenes.

Read more about scenes in our Timeline Tour ->.

Layer Actions

The Toggle Class action type allows you to add and remove a class name from the target layer.

The Simulate User Click action type allows you to send a “click” event to another layer, in turn allowing you to trigger click based actions on that layer.

Scroll Actions

The Scroll to ID action smoothly scrolls to an anchor on the same page.

The Scroll Below Module action option smoothly scrolls the page to a position below the module.

Modal Actions

The Open Modal action is used to open a module as a modal popup.

The Close Modal action is used to close a module that has been opened as a modal popup.

Media Actions

The Play Media action will start playback on the target layer, if it’s not already playing.

The Stop Media action will stop playback on the target layer, if it’s currently playing.

The Toggle Media action will start playback on the target layer if it’s not currently playing, and stop playback if it is already playing.

The Mute Media action will mute audio on the target layer.

The Unmute Media action will unmute audio on the target layer.

The Toggle Mute Media action will mute audio on the target layer if it’s currently unmuted, and unmute audio if it’s currently muted.

Full Screen Actions

The Enter Full Screen action will set the module to full screen mode.

The Exit Full Screen action will tell the module to leave full screen mode and return to its default dimensions.

The Toggle Full Screen action will set the module to full screen mode if it’s not already, and will otherwise exit full screen mode.
